So last Wednesday, we got shot up with Yellow Fever, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Meningitis, Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis, Polio, and Influenza. We got away with only 8 needle pokes between the two of us: Alyssa watched with rapt delight, thinking of all the beautiful science that had made such marvelous vaccines, and Kabyn endured with less than rapt delight. Now we have a few live typhoid immunizations for a little before-bed treat every other day.
Our shoulders are nearly recovered and the fevers seemed to have subsided as our immune systems [which happens to be the coolest and most complicated system in nature] kick into gear. All the little white cell generals are going on alert, attacking invaders, but taking note of the bodies for later. It’s really just amazing. We’ll take some malaria prophylactics with us, and of course a few handy remedies for any of that most common of traveler’s ailments.
That’s all for today… next time, confirmation of ticket buying and the awaited info on where we’ll be and what we’ll be doing.
