Vikesland Thanksgiving 2010

We were very grateful for some good rest on Thanksgiving.  We remained in sweats or pajamas all day, Kabyn cooked with much assistance from the excellent Trader Joe’s (pork brisket in tiny sandwiches, roasted sweet potatoes, fruit salad, and later, pumpkin cheesecake).  We laid around and spent relaxed time together.

Later in the day, we saw our first St Louis snow fall, then took a little walk to let Alaythia touch snow for the first time.  She was thrilled with it, and once we were all freezing cold, we walked home and got amazing lattes/hot chocolate at a local diner (no Starbucks anywhere near these parts…).

Around 6pm, I went to the kitchen, and did a little cleaning up.  15 minutes later, I returned to where Alaythia and Kabyn had been watching VeggieTales and football (on computer and TV, respectively).  This is what I saw, which about sums up our day:
